Do you like the sound of our walking groups but don’t live in Cornwall? Our how-to guide will help guide you through setting up your own dementia-friendly walking group in your community.

We know from experience that by allowing someone to spend time outdoors walking with other people, conversations flow more easily, people relax, and new friendships are formed. This is especially important for people living with dementia and their carers who can experience feelings of loneliness and isolation. Unlike many activity clubs walking groups don’t require booking of meeting spaces and expensive equipment, just a bit of green space and a friendly face is enough to get going.

Over the years we’ve developed a bit of a secret recipe for what makes a successful dementia-friendly walking group and are always happy to share our secrets!
