Creative Spaces for carers

A nature based programme supporting dementia carers' health

gardening at Potager garden

We are offering free workshops for people new to the role of caring for someone living with dementia.

In a recent UK carers survey, 87% of participants stated that caring had a negative impact on their mental health, 91% said that the biggest impact was anxiety or stress.

With this in mind our new carers support programme uses nature-based tools and techniques to help new dementia carers in Cornwall and Devon look after their own health. It is designed to help people cope with issues such as social isolation, anxiety and poor sleeping patterns within a friendly and informal small group setting, using both indoor and outdoor environments. Each programme is a series of nine workshops timed to fit around each group's needs.
