Ellie Robinson Carter

Project Officer

Ellie works on our Creative Spaces in the Community Project. The project uses nature and outdoor spaces to encourage older people living with dementia to become more active, build social networks and foster independence. She facilitates the running of our group at Potager, and supports Wendy in the other nature-based activity groups for the project.

Prior to her role at The Sensory Trust, Ellie volunteered with The Happy Wanderers – one of the walking groups under the umbrella of Creative Spaces. As part of her final project for her MA in Illustration: Authorial Practice at Falmouth University, she worked with the group to document their walks through photography, drawings and audio, resulting in a collection of 16 books. In September 2014 she founded multi-award winning Penryn Memory Cafe, and continues to lead the café twice a month. Before this, she led a memory café in York for two years, whilst studying English and Philosophy at York university.
