Walking impressions - pottery group

Dementia friendly activity at Leach pottery St Ives

Watch our film showing the project highlights from Autumn 2016

Walking Impressions is a creative project involving walking in the Cornish landscape and using nature as inspiration for new, ceramic artwork. Following the success of the project in the autumn of 2016, we have decided to continue into the new year, with a slightly different format to before.

Gathering nature over the course of three walks, the group will then meet in the studio at Leach Pottery on the last Wednesday of each month. Here, they will work with lead project artist Jackie Clark to explore connections between landscape, nature and memory by using their collected materials alongside the medium of clay.

The walks will take place on Wednesday mornings 10:30-12:30, three times a month. The studio sessions will take place on the last Wednesday of each month, where the group will be divided into two groups – to allow for maximum space and access to resources.

The dates are shown below on the poster: please get in touch with Ellie if you would like to know more or to book on to the project.
