A nature based programme supporting dementia carers' health

Our Creative Spaces programme is offering free introductory workshops for people new to the role of caring for someone living with dementia. 

In a recent UK carers survey, 87% of participants stated that caring had a negative impact on their mental health, 91% said that the biggest impact was anxiety or stress.

With this in mind we will be running a brand new carers support programme starting September 2018 that uses nature-based tools and techniques to help new dementia carers to maintain their own health. The programme will cover issues such as social isolation, anxiety and poor sleeping patterns within a friendly and informal small group setting, using both indoor and outdoor environments.

We will running 10 full programmes over the next three years at various locations across Cornwall and Devon. The first programme takes place in Liskeard, details below;
