Steering group

The project steering group comprises representatives from organisations with expertise of working with the target beneficiaries. The role of the group is to provide direction to the project and monitor progress, debate issues, introduce opportunities for enhancing the project activity, identify networks of potential volunteers and other collaborators and help promote the project and disseminate findings.

Organisations represented in the steering group are Sensory Trust, Eden Project, Disability Cornwall, Mencap, Lloyds TSB Foundation and Widgit Software.

The steering group have met regularly throughout the project, in the first year the focus for these meetings was on the project development, whereas the second year has largely focused on the exploration of techniques we have developed. The members of the steering group are perfectly positioned to comment on the resources we develop from the point of view of the groups they represent. The core group has proved a very effective forum for fulfilling all aspects of the intended role, as identified above. In addition individuals also provide input to project activities between meetings. 

A further group of organisations and individuals is involved in the project, providing specialist advice on techniques, access to sites and local communities and helping with dissemination.
