Mosaics for the Beacon Resource Centre

Around 30 adults and children from the Beacon Estate in Falmouth
spent a busy Friday night and all of Saturday designing and making
mosaics. The designs, featuring brightly coloured boats, birds and
butterflies, will be installed outside the resource centre on concrete
planters.
The work was led by mosaic artists Jill Friggins and Richard Jardine.
Everyone had a great time making the mosaics. One boy, who had
been caught vandalising the low wall in front of the centre the
previous evening was brought round to apologise for the damage he
had caused. He was asked if he would like to help make mosaics.
He joined in and ended up the last to leave because he was so involved.
The mosaic project is funded by Learning and Skills Council funding
through Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change (CN4C).
