Eden Sessions 2007We have been working with the Eden team again this year to make their sessions this summer as accessible as possible. Last year we ran a programme of user testing to see what improvements Eden could make. Eden feels very strongly that everyone should feel welcome and have a really great experience at the events they put on. We had a lot of feedback from last year which has helped to inform both design and management decisions for this year. We will be running the same programme of user testing this year to help build on the levels of access and test the improvement that have been made. CABE hails the pace-setters for 2007Our very own Jane Stoneham has been chosen as one of the CABE (Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment) Festive Five. Not a group of super-heroes (in the Marvel comic sense anyway) but a group of individuals and organisations that CABE has decided merit recognition for setting standards in the design of buildings and spaces. More... Two Awards for Easy Access to Historic LandscapesWell, we're all a bit chuffed here at the office. It turns out that Easy Access to Historic Landscapes has won two awards at the Landscape Institute Awards in London. More about the awards... Big Lottery Award for Accessible InformationThe Sensory Trust is set to expand its innovative work plans thanks to an award by the Big Lottery. The Trust will receive £166,000 for a project that will help improve access to the natural environment and open spaces. More about the Big Lottery Award... By All Reasonable MeansThe Sensory Trust has worked with the Countryside Agency to produce a framework for good practice in working with disabled people to improve and increase their access to the outdoors. Civic Trust AwardThe Sensory Trust have been awarded a certificate for our involvement with the Eden Project: Foundation Building – the project received a mention in the 2005 Civic Trust Awards.
