Towards the Edge

June 2007

The Sensory Trust in partnership with Eden has just designed and installed a brand new exhibit as part of ‘Towards the Edge’, an exhibition at the Eden Project giving people an opportunity to learn more about Eden’s new biome, The Edge, and contribute to its development.

The Edge exhibit

‘Towards the Edge’ is housed on the Stage area at Eden and is open from now until early September. Many other organisations are taking part such as Divine Chocolate, Oxfam, and Wateraid. Eden is also showcasing some of their other exciting projects such as “Mud between your toes” and “I am an Earthling”.

Our exhibit is an interactive installation that promotes the ideas behind The Edge and the New Ground project. New Ground is a community regeneration project involving Eden Project, WildWorks, Post-Mining Alliance, Health Complexity Group and the Sensory Trust, supported by the Carnegie Trust. Using just luggage tags and a rotary washing line the exhibit has already inspired thousands of people to think about, talk about and share their hopes, opinions and concerns (3000 tags and counting).

If you can’t make it to Eden to take part in the exhibition you can contribute by email.

We would really like to hear what you have to say.

  • Who can you count on?
  • What makes your favourite place?
  • What would you like to be remembered for?
  • If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
  • Who or what do you value most?
