out to play in Cornwall
“Out to play in Cornwall” is inspired by playful places in Cornwall that you can visit and playful people who have been involved in improving their local play areas. The book passes on ideas for engaging children and young people in designing and developing their own play areas and examples of natural playful features with low installation and low maintenance costs in recognition of the need to make resources stretch further.
"This is a terrific resource to help communities provide the exciting outdoor play opportunities children need. Wonderful stuff!" Sue Palmer, best selling author of Toxic Childhood.
Produced in partnership by the Sensory Trust and Cornwall Council it
covers subjects like:
• natural features
• getting children involved
• how to choose a supplier
• useful contacts and other sources of information.
• making play areas accessible
