Sensory-rich activities: connecting people with the outdoors

Grow a sunflower

Sunflowers are really fun and relatively simple to grow. When the conditions are right they seem to grow a bit more every day giving the grower a real sense of pride and achievement. They are a great introductory activity for someone new to gardening and the quick results make them good for people who need to see things happening.
