Towards the Edge - Community Narratives ExhibitJune 2007 The Sensory Trust in partnership with Eden designed and installed a new exhibit as part of ‘Towards the Edge’, an exhibition at the Eden Project giving people an opportunity to learn more about Eden’s proposed new biome, The Edge, and contribute to its development.
‘Towards the Edge’ was housed on the Stage area at Eden and was open during the summer months. Many other organisations took part such as Divine Chocolate, Oxfam, and Wateraid. Eden also showcased some of their other exciting projects such as “Mud between your toes” and “I am an Earthling”. Our exhibit was an interactive installation promoting the ideas behind The Edge and the New Ground project. New Ground was a community regeneration project involving Eden Project, WildWorks, Post-Mining Alliance, Health Complexity Group and the Sensory Trust, supported by the Carnegie Trust. Using just luggage tags and a rotary washing line the exhibit inspired thousands of people to think about, talk about and share their hopes, opinions and concerns (3000 tags and counting).
