Inclusive landscapesA one day seminar and training event to explore the role of landscape
architects and landscape designers in creating environments that are
valued and enjoyed by the widest range of people. User engagementOur engagement techniques are user-led, and activity based. We have particular skills in non-written engagement tools, such as pictorial symbols and sensory and verbal response, that generate meaningful feedback from user groups. Accessible informationOne day training events that combine examples of good practice with practical workshops using tools developed by the Sensory Trust to assess the quality of information provision and look at ways to make existing information more accessible. Disability and diversityWe have delivered several training sessions to Eden on the themes of disability and diversity to broaden to audience at the Eden Project and make the experience of Eden even better. Presentation skillsThis training day will free you from relying on Powerpoint to deliver a compelling, interesting, entertaining presentation. You'll be able to engage an audience and keep them awake for your entire presentation. Information sharing session with Eden GuidesCate Detheridge from Widgit Software explained the importance of symbols, why Eden feels strongly about using these techniques and the wide range of people that symbols can benefit. Use of symbolsCate Detheridge from Widgit Software and our own Lynsey Robinson held a training session for the Eden graphics team and designers from Gendall's Design in Truro. The session covered use of symbols in information provision and the use of Webwide symbol-supported browser software. Green Flag training daysSensory Trust provided sessions for the national training days organised by Civic Trust for Green Flag judges. Addressed the wide range of access issues in parks, and the importance of linking technical aspects with quality of experience. Access plans and audience development plansSensory Trust provided guidance on producing access plans and audience development plans for greenspace managers in London as part of the Capital Woodlands project, delivered for Trees for Cities. Disability Discrimination Act (DDA)Awareness raising sessions, and overviews of the DDA, for the construction
and design teams involved in the new Education Resource Centre at Eden
Project.
