We run conferences to share ideas, bring people together and to
put the spotlight on great work. We like to mix things up and often
plan conferences that cross different professional boundaries and
encourage a mix of disciplines to come together and discover common
ground. In our experience this is how the best ideas emerge.

Let Nature Feed Your Senses national conference
6th September 2011 at Reaseheath College, Cheshire. This action-packed
days left heads buzzing with ideas about sensory rich nature-based
activities. A rich mix of talks and workshops, and Jo Schofield
and Fiona Danks (authors of Going Wild) shared ideas to awaken a
sense of wonder and enjoyment in the natural world. Read

Food, farming and nature in the city
Part of our Let nature feed your senses project, this conference
in London brought together farmers, environmental organisations
and community groups in December 2010 to learn how sensory-rich
experiences, play, drawing and stories help make connections with
nature, food and farming for people who don't normally have the

A Sense of Place
Our first Sense of Place conference was in 2004. Sense of Place
is about how we make better places. It is about making connections:
connections between people and their environment; between people
who didn’t realise they need to work together; and between
ideas that have never existed in the same room before. To read more

Dementia, Environment and Community 2009
As part of our Creative Spaces project, this seminar was an insight
into positive, creative and inspiring techniques that support and
improve the quality of life for people with dementia and their families/carers.

A one day seminar and training event to explore the role of landscape
architects and landscape designers in creating environments that
are valued and enjoyed by the widest range of people. Read

Connecting young people and place
This conference at the University of Reading in 2008 brought together
a multi-disciplinary mix of contibutions from the UK, Japan and
Sweden to address the promotion of better quality environments for
young people and better opportunities for nature-based play. Read

Learning from nature: environmental facilities in UK and Japan
Sensory Trust and the Association for Children's Environment (ACE,
Japan) held this successful one-day conference in Tokyo, Japan.
It was attended by university professors and students, and practitioners
from botanic gardens, museums, design firms, environmental groups,
amusement parks, schools, local governments and disabled peoples'

Public Parks: Keep Out
Sensory Trust and GreenSpace worked in partnership to run this
international conference. Hosted in Manchester by the City Council,
the event highlighted the importance of accessible parks and green
