Fabulous foliage, gorgeous grass, tremendous trees, alluring allotments: Exploring the benefits of green spaces for communities 

Community Green Spaces seminar
Saturday 5th September 2009, 9.30am – 3pm

This day is now fully booked, but Eden Project and Sensory Trust will be running others in the near future.

A series of inspirational talks, discussions, and practical activities which will explore the benefits of community owned and managed green spaces.

This informal seminar will provide an opportunity for members of local communities and community practitioners to share experiences and develop and implement ideas for local green spaces.

The day will include talks from local projects and organisations which are using green spaces to bring the community together around growing, sharing and socialising.

Establishing a village community garden
St Neot Doorstep Green

Green spaces and community interaction of older people
Community University Partnership Programme (TBC)

This event is part of a series of inspirational happenings leading up to the four-day Sense of Place conference in September 2009. Entitled Sustainable Placemaking, this year’s conference looks at future thinking, social and cultural capital, place-based learning, health, sustainability, inclusion and participation.
