About the Sensory TrustThe Sensory Trust makes places more accessible, attractive and useful for everyone regardless of age, disability or background. We are a UK registered charity and a company limited by guarantee. Our remit is national and at times international through the great links we've made with like-minded organisations and individuals in mainland Europe, Japan, USA and Australia. We are based in Cornwall, the south west corner of the UK, as the result of building a close relationship with the Eden Project and realising we could do great things together if we were based nearby. We moved here in 2011 as Eden opened its doors for the first time, not sure quite what was in store but like all good adventures it came together in the best of ways. Our multidisciplinary team of ten people bring skills in design, environmental management, financial management, community engagement, promotion and general plate spinning. Our extended family is a network of people we know well and who work with us as consultants, adding extra capacity and specialist expertise when the opportunities arise. We run a mix of large and small scale projects, supported through grant funding and consultancy work. Our work is currently supported by the Big Lottery Fund, European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, Natural England and South West Regional Development Agency. Recent consultancy work has been undertaken for Eden Project, Natural England, Forestry Commission, National Trust and various design practices. Our robust financial management systems are independently audited and we have over fifteen years' experience of successfully managing large and small projects.
